JEE Advanced Result will be declared on 12 June 2016 at 10:00 AM by Joint Admission Board (JAB). The candidates who took JEE Advanced 2016 on 22 May 2016 will be able to check it online on the official website of the examination. In the result, they will be able to check the score obtained as well as the corresponding rank assigned. Allotment in IITs, ISM, and other leading institutes will be done on the basis of merit that shall be assessed from the marks and rank. Only those candidates will be included in the JEE Advanced Result 2016 merit lists that are able to score marks equal to or more than the cutoff.

Prescribed minimum qualification marks in JEE Advanced Result 2016 varies with each category. A tie breaker mechanism will be followed if two or more candidates score equal marks in the examination which is as follows:

  • Higher score in math in JEE Advanced 2016
  • Higher score in physics in JEE Advanced 2016

If the tie still exists, same rank will be assigned to the candidates. The lists will contain names of the candidates arranged in the decreasing order of marks. In other words, the highest scorer will get rank 1 in the list. The JEE Advanced Result 2016 candidate with marks equal to the cutoff will be given the bottom position in the JEE Advanced 2016 Merit List. It must be also noticed that the merit lists according to JEE Advanced 2016 Result will be prepared separately for each category as well as on four different levels. These levels are – All India, All India Categorical, State Rank, and State Categorical Rank. Allotment will be done by JoSAA through first two ranks only.

How to check JEE Advanced 2016 Result?

  • On the computer system, open the official website of the examination.
  • On the homepage, locate the link for result cum scorecard and click it.
  • Enter details of roll number, application number etc correctly in the fields.
  • Check the fields once again and make correction if necessary. Press ‘submit’.
  • JEE Advanced Result 2016 will be shown on the screen now.
  • Press print command to take printout of the result cum scorecard.
